Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to support a large-scale application modernization initiative focused on transforming a legacy .NET platform into a cloud-native, event-driven ecosystem on AWS. This individual will work closely with product owners, architects, engineering teams, and program leadership to drive execution within one or more modernization workstreams.
The ideal candidate combines strong Agile delivery experience with enough technical understanding to effectively partner with software engineers and architects. This role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day execution, managing project plans, tracking dependencies and risks, maintaining delivery timelines, and ensuring teams remain aligned to modernization objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive execution of modernization initiatives within assigned project workstreams and engineering teams.
• Coordinate delivery activities across developers, product owners, QA, and business stakeholders.
• Manage project scope, timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and daily standups as needed.
• Partner with Product Owners to ensure backlog readiness, prioritization, and alignment to business objectives.
• Track project health and communicate status updates, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.
• Identify delivery blockers and proactively drive resolution.
• Support implementation of cloud modernization initiatives, including legacy application decomposition, API development, event-driven architecture adoption, and AWS migration efforts.
• Maintain project schedules and coordinate cross-team dependencies.
• Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of work through Jira and other project management tools.
• Collaborate with program leadership to align project-level execution with broader modernization goals.
• Support budget tracking, resource planning, and delivery forecasting activities.

Skills and Requirements
• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, IT Project Manager, or Agile Project Manager.
• Experience leading software development, application modernization, or cloud transformation projects.
• Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, and project deliverables.
• Experience operating in Agile software development environments; SAFe experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and Agile delivery best practices.
• Experience coordinating technical teams across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
• Strong risk management and issue resolution skills.
• Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience using Jira for backlog, sprint, and project management.
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud technologies and cloud migration initiatives.
• Ability to understand technical discussions and effectively partner with engineering and architecture teams. • Experience supporting .NET modernization initiatives.
• Experience with microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, or distributed systems.
• Experience working within large enterprise organizations.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or related certifications.
• Previous experience supporting cloud-native transformation initiatives hosted on AWS.
